Supa-Stik is an exceptionally powerful fast tack adhesive specially formulated to produce a ‘cob web’ spray pattern, and is conveniently packaged for a wide range of applications.
Supa-Stik finds extensive use in furniture manufacturing, re-upholstering and fixings carpets and other floor coverings. It sticks foams, felts, fabrics, leather and most other light and medium weight materials to themselves, each other or many substrates, including: wood, concrete, slate, stone, metal, rigid plastics and most other hard surfaces.
Method of Use
Supa-Stik is a contact adhesive which forms its bond by sticking to itself, so for good, long term results, it is always best to coat both surfaces if possible from approximately 10 inches (25cm). Spray one surface horizontally and the other vertically, allow 1 – 2 minutes for the solvents to dry; when there is no adhesive transference to the finger, position together working from the centre outwards. This adhesive is not suitable for heavily plasticised PVC.
An evaluation of the adhesive should be carried out in application conditions before commercial use is undertaken, this should also include reference to ageing.
Supa-Stik has the highest weight of solids available in aerosol adhesive formulations, and the lowest amount of solvents, so it lays down a heavier coat weight and dries quicker than other similar products.
Supa-Stik is now twinned with our new Easi-Flo valve and Easi-Control actuator system, which gives greater fingertip control; For larger areas, press actuator full on and move can away slightly. For narrower band widths or to apply less adhesive, press the actuator more gently and move can closer.
Use between 5 – 25°C. Higher/lower temperatures will affect setting times. For lower or higher temperatures see Contact Adhesive.
Supa-Stik is not recommended for vehicle headlinings (see Trimfix) or for other high temperature applications (see Contact Adhesive)
Handling and Storage Considerations
Whilst handling Supa-Stik, we advise to avoid spillage, to keep away from heat, sparks and open flames and to use the adhesive in well ventilated areas. Supa-Stik needs to be stored at moderate temperatures in dry, well ventilated areas and must not be exposed to direct sunlight or temperatures above 50 °C.
Supa-Stik must be disposed of safely, in accordance with local authority requirements. The empty containers must not be burned due to explosion hazards.
